There is more to Italian sparkling wine than Prosecco & Asti: get to know some!

Everyone enjoys drinking sparkling wines, there is immediate celebration when you open a bottle with bubbles. Do you know how those bubbles get into the bottle?

With this tasting you will learn all the different ways sparkling wines are produced (there is more than one!) and see the difference the method makes in taste. Love Prosecco? Find alternatives! Think Italian sparklers are too sweet or rough? Taste a Franciacorta and you might never go back to Champagne! There is an Italian sparkling wine for every occasion and every food, discover with us the possibilities.

We will be drinking 5 different sparkling wines. There is one drawback: Once you start drinking bubbles, you can’t stop!

This tasting takes place at our wine studio, it is not a tour.

The cost of this tasting is €50 p.p., a minimum attendance of 4 is required for the event to take place.

If you are booking for a party size smaller than 4, we will let you know if the minimum attendance has been reached through other bookings or if the date will need to be cancelled due to the bookings not reaching 4. In that case, the total amount will be completely refunded, of course.

Food plays a great role in understanding a wine and a place. So it was only natural that we wanted to show you more about it.

Being sommeliers, our life centers around marrying wine with food. In Italy wine is never drank without food, so understanding food is the first step in understanding the wine. And you will see that the whole country and its people make more sense, too, once you understand the food culture - the growing, the buying, the preparation and: Eating!

Our food tour has a different itinerary for each day of the week (and yes, that includes Sunday - let yourself be surprised). The common point of every day is visiting the right market, the food shops, the cafes, the gelateria that offer their best. Where the very discerning locals go themselves. Where we have been shopping for years. We have a certain area and certain shops in mind for every morning, but we are flexible to accommodate your wishes - be it photo-ops, just learning about the food, shopping items for your rental apartment kitchen or to take back home with you. And we will always leave you at a good lunch spot!

Max. attendee number for this tour is 6. Included are the appx. 3 hour expert guided walking tour with many stops; in-depth explanation and description of the various food and related items you will see; and various tastes you will receive.

The cost of this tour is €80 p.p., a minimum attendance of 2 is required for the event to take place.

Drink and eat the very best products Italy has to offer: Taste 4 distinctly different Italian wines and see how they match (and why!) with cheeses. You will get a taste of some of the best cold cuts (prosciutto, salumi etc.), as well. Sample the best Italian cheeses (fresh and aged, sheep’s, goat’s and cow’s milk) and see how different wines react with these popular Italian foods. You will be surprised to see some long-standing conventions go over board!

You will be introduced to some basic rules about wine tasting after which you are ready to start evaluating every wine. You will get to taste 4 Italian wines, all from different regions and with different characteristics, getting an overview of Italian wines. There will be a sparkling wine, a white, a red and a sweet wine! You will be guided through tasting each wine, defining the aromas, see parallels and/or differences to wines you might already know. You will not only learn more about the specific wine on hand but also the region and the type of wine it stands for, thus learning to appreciate wines in a knowledgeable fashion and decide which wines you like and why.

You will see: When you know where a wine comes from and who has made it how, you will enjoy each glass even more! You will also learn how to choose wines in the future that cater to your taste and needs.

“My Italians” is our classic and most booked tasting.

You will be introduced to some basic rules about wine tasting after which you are ready to start evaluating every wine. You will get to taste 6 Italian wines, all from different regions and with different characteristics, getting an overview of Italian wines.
