Summer in the Cellar - Jazz & Wine, 2

cellar_crCool down from the hottest Roman summer at the second installment of our summer in the cellar events. Enjoy the sounds of live jazz and the sights of our historic cellar as you sip fine wines. We will be drinking older German and Austrian wines from our private stash that you can not find anywhere else in Italy.

Our trio will play 2 sets, one in the cellar, during which you can sip the first of your wines. During the second set, which will be upstairs in the tasting room, we will go on to the red and a generous, summery spread of delicious food (some also suitable for vegetarians and vegans). Before and after the sets, we will chat about the wines and answer all your questions, but please note this won’t be a structured formal tasting like our regular tastings.

The acclaimed musicians of the night are Luca Chiaraluce (guitar), Cristiano Rizzuto (English horn) and Giuseppe Caliccia (contrabass).

A Riesling, the king of white wines, from Pfalz, Germany will make a refreshing start to the evening. A Blaufraenkisch from Burgenland, Austria, the wine that Italians have already started watching out for as a serious rival to the Sangiovese, will be the red star of the evening. We will pair dessert with a Trockenbeerenauslese from Burgenland, Austria. If you have been to the first installment - no worries, we will be tasting different wines at this tasting!

This event will take approximately 3 hours and costs €70 per person. Space is very limited this time, as we are admitting only 15 guests.

As with all of our tastings, bookings are essential and can only be made through this site - just follow the link below (”book this event”).

Guest are welcome to join the musicians with singing - only if they are as talented as this guest of the first Jazz & Wine! (adobe flash player needed. Or, you can watch directly on youtube). More pictures from the first event.
